나의 최애(最愛) 도서관인 배다리 도서관

연고도 없는 경기도 평택(平澤)으로 오게 된 계기는  평택 지역을 담당한 직원이 갑작스럽게

회사를 그만두면서이다

 

The reason why I came to Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, which has no connection, was

because an employee in charge of the Pyeongtaek area suddenly quit the company

 

Camp Humphreys 미군부대와 용이동, 죽백동 일대에 진행된 회사 Project

때문에 갑자기 발령을 받아 오게 되었다

Jukbaek-dong, I was suddenly appointed

 

내 생에 내가 가장 열심히 다녔고, 가장 사랑한 도서관은 평택 배다리 도서관이다

 

The library that I went to the most and loved the most in my life is the Pyeontaek municipal

Baedari Library in Pyeongtaek

 

물론, 나이가 지긋이 들다 보니 조용히 사색하고 책 읽는 시간을 조금씩 늘려가면서 틈만 나면

찾게 되는 곳이 도서관이 되었다

 

Of course, as I got older, I quietly contemplated and increased my reading time little by little,

and the library became the place I looked for whenever I had time

 

지금은 평택 반도체 경기가 좋지 않아서 다른 지역에서 회사 생활을 하고 있지만 배다리 도서관 

준공(2018.07.31), 개관(2018.10.31)에서부터 생태공원 및 맨발 산책로까지 변화를 지켜보게 되었다

 

Now, the semiconductor business in Pyeongtaek is not good, so I am working in other regions,

옛날 조선말기까지는 썰물 때 평택 소사벌 지역까지 바닷물이 들어오는 지역이었는데, 일제 강점기

방죽이 생기기 前까지 떼배 혹은 부교로 연결된 다리를 통하여 건너기도 하였다고 전해진다

 

Until the end of the Joseon Dynasty, seawater flowed into the Sosabeol area of Pyeongtaek

at low tide,

 

but it is said that it was crossed by a bridge connected to a raft or a bridge before

the Bangjuk was formed during the Japanese colonial period

 

배다리 저수지  주위 산책길에  조성되어 있는 떼배 혹은 부교 위에 데크를 조성한 조형물이 있어

눈썰미가 있으신 분들은 배다리의 이름에 대한 유래를 짐작해 볼 수 있다

평택에서 10년을 살다 보니 알게 된 사실이지만, 평택역에서 가까운 현 소사벌 레포츠타운 옆 

지명이 조개 터라 불리는데, 삽교호 방조제 건설되기 전 종합운동장 쪽 안성천 갯벌 및 염전이

있었다고 한다

 

I found out after living in Pyeongtaek for 10 years, but the place next to the current

Sosabal Leports Town, which is close to Pyeongtaek Station, is called the clam site,

 

and the Anseongcheon mudflats and salt fields near the general stadium before the

construction of the Sapgyo Lake seawall

소사벌은 소사동 남쪽 소사천에서 안성천 사이의 벌판이름으로 곡창지대인 평택평야의 들판

가운데로 삼남대로가 지나갔다고 한다

 

Sosabeol is the name of a field between Sosacheon Stream and Anseongcheon Stream in

the south of Sosae-dong, and Samnam-daero (Called the Silk Road of Joseon) is said to

have passed through the middle of a field in Pyeongtaek Plain, a granary area

6코스에 해당하는 소금뱃길이 있다

 

If you refer to the official blog of Pyeongtaek City, there are 16 courses of Pyeongtaek Seop-gil,

and 6 courses of salt waterway from Anjeong-eup to Cheongbuk-eup office

 

일제 강점기 때 남양만 옹포 일대의 소금을 실어 나르던 뱃길이었다고 전해진다

 

It is said that it was a sea route that carried salt around Ongpo in Namyang Bay during

the Japanese colonial period

 

또한, 팽성읍 가기 전에 안성천을 가로지르는 다리를 건너기 전 군문주공 앞 원평나루터가

있었다고 하고, 그 주위 지명이 원평동이다

 

Also, it is said that there was a Wonpyeong Ferry in front of Gunmunjugong before crossing

the bridge across Anseongcheon Stream before going to Paengseong-eup,

and the place name is Wonpyeong-dong

 

용이동(용의 귀 모양), 세교동(가는 다리, 예전엔 잔다리로 불림) 등 지명이름에는 그만한 이유가

있다

Segyo-dong (thin bridge, formerly called fine bridge)

 

최근에도 배다리 도서관 주변에도 하나둘씩 개성 있는 집들과 남부경찰서 어린이 집이 들어서서

경관의 변화가 생겼다

 

Recently, unique houses and Nambu Police Station daycare centers were built around

the Baedari Library one by one, resulting in a change of scenery

 

아름답게 피는 들꽃들을 마주할 때면 도서관 가는 길이 아름답게 느껴진다

배다리 생태공원의 四季

 

 

배다리 도서관의 4계를 배다리 생태공원을 산책할 때나, 소사벌 쪽으로 식사를 하러 갈 때

가끔씩 배다리 공원의 사계절 변화를  찍어둔다

 

When I take a walk in Baedari Ecological Park or go to Sosabeol for a meal, I sometimes

take pictures of the changes of the four seasons of Baedari Park

 

2021년 도시생태현황지도(비오톱 지도)에서 절대적으로 보전이 필요한 유형인 I등급을

받았고, 우수 비오톱에 선정되었다

 

In 2021, it received Grade I, a type that absolutely needs preservation, and was selected

as an excellent biotop in the Urban Ecological Status Map (Biotop Map)

 

비오톱이란 그리스어 생명을 뜻하는 "Bios"와 땅을 뜻하는 "Topos"의 합성어로 서식지의

생태적 가치를 평가하여 등급화한 것이다

 

Biotop is a combination of the Greek words "Bios, " which means life, and "Topos, "

which means land, and is graded by evaluating the ecological value of the habitat

 

수변데크와 산책로, 운동기구와 실개천 등도 원형보존지와 함께 잘 조성되어 있어서 멸종위기

2급인 큰 기러기와 천연기념물 큰고니, 어릴 적 흔히 보이던 금개구리, 기타 새와 곤충, 풀과

나무가 어우러져 살고 있다

 

Waterside decks, trails, exercise equipment, and silgaecheon Stream are also well-established

along with circular preservation areas,

 

so they live in harmony with endangered level 2 big geese, natural monument big swans,

golden frogs, other birds and insects, grass and trees

 

저수지 3만 평을 포함하여 공원부지가 6만 평에 이르러 평택시민들의 핫플레이스라 할 만하다

 

The park site, including 30,000 pyeong of reservoirs, has reached 60,000 pyeong,

making it a hot place for Pyeongtaek citizens

 

 

평택 대학교 후문 근처인 용이동과 죽백동에 오랫동안 살아서인지 도서관 개관과 생태공원의

조성도 같이 지켜보게 되었다

 

I lived in Yong-dong and Jukbaek-dong near the back gate of Pyeongtaek University

for a long time, so I saw the opening of the library and the creation of an

ecological park together

아시는 분들은 아는 내용이지만 2022년 05월 평택항. 서해대교, 소풍정원에 이어 세 번째로

배다리 생태공원(주무부서에서는 평택배다리근린공원으로 지정) 평택 八景에 선정되었다

Pyeongtaek after Seohae Bridge and Picnic Garden

 

최근 2024년 11월 24일 평택시에서 공식적으로 "평택 도심 속 허파"를 상징하는 생태공원으로

선포하였다

 

On November 24, 2024, Pyeongtaek City officially declared it an ecological park that

symbolizes "the lungs in the downtown of Pyeongtaek."

 

참고로 평택 8경에는 평택호관광단지, 농업생태원, 오성강변, 원평나루 갈대숲, 진위천 

유원지가 있다

 

For reference, Pyeongtaek 8 scenic views include Pyeongtaek Lake Tourist Complex,

Agricultural Ecological Garden, Oseonggang River, Wonpyeongnaru Reed Forest,

and Jinjicheon Amusement Park

 

평택 8경은 경치보단 현대적 의미로 볼거리가 포함된 선정이라 한다

 

Pyeongtaek Eight Scenic Views are said to be a selection that includes attractions in a

modern sense rather than scenery

 

단양팔경이나 관동팔경, 한양팔경 같은 유명한 곳들에 빗대어 붙인 이름이긴 하나, 평택을

사랑한다면 귀엽게 봐줄 만하다

Gwandong Eight Views, and Hanyang Eight Views, but if you love Pyeongtaek,

배다리 도서관 부대시설 및 산책로

 

 

주중에는 주차요금을 받기는 하지만 저렴한 가격이고, 주말에는 주차요금을 내지 않아도 되기에

주변 산책로를 이용하는 시민들 포함하여 도서관 개관 시간(AM 9시) 이후 주차장이 꽉 들어찬다

 

Parking fees are low during the week, and parking lots are full after the opening hours

of the library (9 a.m.) including citizens who use the nearby promenade because they

do not have to pay parking fees on weekends

 

꿀팁을 하나 드리자면 점심시간 전. 후 혹은 저녁시간 이후에는 주차장에 주차를 할 수 있다

주차장 뒤쪽으로 맨발 산책로 가는 길이 있고, 세무서 가는 쪽으로도 실개천과 산책로가 잘 조성되어

있어서 행사 및 배꽃 노래자랑이 열리는 장소로 활용되기도 한다

are well established toward the tax office, so it is also used as a place for events and

예전에는 배다리 도서관이 자리 잡은 곳이 이른 봄 배꽃이 만발하는 곳이라 "배다리지골"로 불리

(2020년 06월 23일 개관)와 독서당으로 불리는 별관(2021년 06월 30일)이다

주한 미국 대사관과 평택시 도서관의 파트너십으로 운영되는 아메리칸 코너는 운영시간은

주중 09시부터 18시까지만 운영된다

사실, 유튜브를 비롯하여 너무도 쉽게 정보를 영상물로 접할 수 있어 굉장히 편리해 보이기는

요즘 현대인들은 책을 많이 안 읽는다고 한다

유익함이야 별도로 하더라도 독서당 건물에서 차 한잔 하면서 책을 읽어보길 권해 드린다

배다리 도서관 편의 및 부대 시설

 

 

최근에 지어진 도서관답게 무인반납기와 1층 로비에 어린이 도서관, 시청각실,

2층에 PC 사용코너가 있어서 많은 혜택을 누릴 수 있다

4층 달이네 뜰에서 바라본 풍광

 

 

어린이 도서관 앞 전시회와 공부하다가 가끔씩 저수지 풍광이나 시원한 바람과 따뜻한

햇빛을 쏘이고 싶을 때 4층 달이네 뜰로 나가서 휴식을 취해보는 것도 좋다

도서관 주위 맨발 산책로

 

 

개인적으로는 울산의 황방산 맨발 산책로(2.5km)에 비해서는 왕복거리가 짧아 단조롭기는

하지만, 최근 맨발 산책로를 넓히는 공사를 해서 좀 더 편리하고 안전한 맨발 산책로로 탈바꿈

하였다

Barefoot Trail (2.5km), but it has recently been transformed into a more convenient and

safe barefoot trail by expanding the barefoot trail

건설경기 악화 및 자영업자들의 줄폐업도 이어지고 있는데 걱정이다

이렇게 국내외적으로 서로 담을 쌓고 단절한다면 결국 만날 수 없는 평행선이 이어질 수 있다

평택에 오래 살면서 자연스럽게 지인들이 생기면서 아이들 진학문제로 고민을 하는 것을

듣다 보면 평택, 송탄으로 아직도 나뉘어서 생각하는 사람들이  있다

 

As I live in Pyeongtaek for a long time and naturally have acquaintances,

there are still people who think divided into Pyeongtaek and Songtan

 

어떤 지역도 완벽한 지역 균형 발전이 이루어지기는 어렵다고 하더라도 서부지역인 안중 쪽은

기차역 하나 없어 인프라 구축이 시급해 보인다

 

Even if it is difficult for any region to achieve complete regional balanced development,

it seems urgent to establish infrastructure in the western region of Anjeong,

as there is no train station

 

배다리 생태공원이 생기면서 단절된 생태계가 복원, 발전하였고 도서관이 생기면서 문화의 힘이

지역 주민들의 연결고리로 발전하게 되리라 생각한다
